Green Impact is coming to 51³Ô¹Ïapp!
On Wednesday 13 October we will be launching the Green Impact programme as part of our series of activities in the countdown to the COP26 international climate conference in Glasgow.
Green Impact is a United Nations award-winning programme designed to support environmentally and socially sustainable practice within organisations. This can mean anything from communicating recycling systems, to reducing single use plastics; from supporting team health and wellbeing campaigns, to working towards carbon-neutrality!
Whether you're taking your first steps into sustainability, or feel like there's nothing left for you to do – you can make meaningful, visible progress through Green Impact, whatever your starting point.
The Green Impact online toolkit software breaks the often-complex world of sustainability down into simple, manageable actions. Teams of students can use it to plan their activities, record their progress and upload evidence – building confidence and enabling light competition to drive further change.
The Green Impact programme will:
- Detail how everyday actions can contribute to the different (SDGs)
- Enable staff and students to work together to deliver sustainability actions
- Contribute to our net zero carbon targets
- Encourage collaboration and team-building
- Provide opportunities for knowledge and skills development
- Contribute to the university's sustainability goals
