Dielectric spectroscopy

Dielectric relaxation spectroscopy can provide valuable information on the electrical properties of solid and liquid materials, their structure and molecular stability. The technique measures the dynamics of both polar molecules and other localised and delocalised charges.

This well established technique presents sophisticated data from molecular to macroscopic scales. The Pharmaceutical Technologies group integrate the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation to investigate and resolve industrial processing and quality issues, and to develop and optimise new products.

We focus on pharmaceutical and biological materials. With significant expertise in the measurement, programming, analysis and application of the technique we can offer solutions to bespoke, real-world scenarios. Utilising this technique we can predict product stability in materials including pharmaceutical powders and solids, freeze-dried products, lyposomes, proteins, membrane films, cells, enzymes and DNA.
