Vehicle Parking & Cycle Policy

51³Ô¹Ïapp Student Permit

Monthly student car park permits can be purchased through 51³Ô¹Ïapp online store.  

For more information and to reserve your permit, please visit the .

Your purchase will entitle you to park in all university car parks* with the exception of Bede Hall of Residence, Trinity House and Beaumont Park. 

Your student access card will be updated accordingly.

*Please note, students can leave their vehicle in a 51³Ô¹Ïapp car park for up to 48 hours.

 

Local Authority Blue Badge Disabled Permit

This free permit has been created for Local Authority Blue Badge Holders, only. Permit holders are permitted to park in any parking bay on campus with the exception of service vehicle, visitor and reserved bays, but should use the designated disabled parking bays wherever possible.

51³Ô¹Ïapp students in receipt of a Local Authority issued Blue Badge, only.

How to Apply

  1. Download and complete an application form.
  2.  Email a copy of the completed application form (this should be typed) and images of the front and back of your blue badge to SSM@dmu.ac.uk.

51³Ô¹Ïapp Assessed Needs Permit

This free permit has been designed to support students who do not hold a Local Authority Blue Badge, but who, for medical reasons, require access to parking close to their place of study. Permit holders are permitted to park in any parking bay on campus with the exception of sevice vehicle, visitor and reseved bats but may park within the designated disabled parking bays.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the applicant must have a medical condition which restricts mobility, meaning that the applicant’s mobility is restricted to short distances (e.g. less than 100 metres), and therefore requires access to a parking space as near as possible to their workplace or building. This could also include a medical condition or health impediment whereby the applicant cannot use public transport, park elsewhere and/or travel from other university or private car parks to reach their workplace or building.

Permit issuance is subject to approval from the Disability Services Team.

 

How to Apply

  1. Download and complete an application form.
  2. Email SSM@dmu.ac.uk with a copy of the completed application form (this should be typed) and medical evidence confirming that your condition meets the above criteria. This could be a letter from a medical professional, dated within the last 12 months, or you could ask them to complete a parking evidence form.
  3. Once we receive your documents, we will let you know if we require any further information from you, or whether we need to discuss it with you in an appointment. No temporary parking permits will be issued.
