Pansexual Visibility Day 2024

Pansexual Visibility Day takes place annually on 24 May, and celebrates and recognises those who identify as pansexual. The day is about raising awareness and increasing the visibility of pansexual identities in the LGBTQ+ community.

What is pansexuality?

Pan means ‘all’ and pansexuality means attraction to all gender identities or attraction regardless of gender identity.

Pansexuality differs from bisexuality, being bisexual means being attracted to multiple gender identities. Pansexuality is included under the bisexual umbrella, and some bisexual people also identify as pansexual, and vice versa.

Shushma Patel, Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience and Dean, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media, said: “Pansexual Visibility Day gives us the opportunity to raise awareness, celebrate and support our pansexual peers to be their authentic selves. At 51³Ô¹Ïapp we are proud of our pansexual students and staff and it is our diversity that makes 51³Ô¹Ïapp such a great place to study and work.”
