, one of England’s largest free LGBTQ+ events, is taking place on Saturday 2 September at Abbey Park, from midday–9pm.
The event – celebrating 15 years – starts with a parade at midday from Curve theatre, heading through the city centre via Humberstone Gate, proceeding to the Lanes, Jubilee Square and along High Street, then continuing onto Belgrave Gate and arriving at Abbey Park around 1pm.
The vibrant parade sees thousands of people march through the city centre towards Abbey Park (a new venue for this year), where the family-friendly Pride festivities continue with live music, dance acts, DJs, drag artists, food and drink, market stalls, a fun fair and much more.

Zara Hooley, co-chair of the 51³Ô¹Ïapp LGBTQ+ and Allies Network Group said: “Leicester Pride is such an important event for the city and is about acceptance, equality, and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. It is also a great family-friendly event for the community and allies to get together and celebrate diverse identities.”
