Over the coming months, the sustainability team are seeking students help to keep campus safe from hedgehog hazards during the nationwide . This is a UK-wide competition to find out which campus can collect the most litter in and around the local community.
All participants (whether from the winning team or not) will also receive a digital certificate from us in recognition of their efforts.
Hedgehogs are covered in thousands of spines, making them vulnerable to becoming trapped in litter. Unfortunately, many hedgehogs die every year because of this. Taking part in the competition will clean up your community and save lots of animals. It will also help teams to tick an action towards their Hedgehog Friendly 51³Ô¹Ïapp award!
Come join the litter picking event on any of the follow days:
- Thursday 22 September: 2 - 3pm
- Wednesday 26 October: 12 – 1pm
- Thursday 27 October: 11am – 12pm
- Monday 14 November: 12 – 1pm
- Friday 18 November: 2 - 3pm
To sign up to one or multiple litter picks from the dates and times above, please email sustainability@dmu.ac.uk.
