During the last week of July, as part of 51³Ô¹Ïapp’s Hedgehog Friendly 51³Ô¹Ïapp initiative, we need your help to keep campus safe from hazards, as we seek volunteers to join us for hedgehog litter picks.
Hedgehogs are covered in thousands of spines, making them particularly vulnerable to becoming trapped in litter. Unfortunately, many hedgehogs die every year because of this.
Taking part in the litter picks will support us to keep the area clean and save lots of animals. It will also help 51³Ô¹Ïapp to tick an action towards our Hedgehog Friendly 51³Ô¹Ïapp award!
The campus litter picking events, which last about an hour, will take place across three dates and you are welcome to join us during as many sessions as you like:
- Wednesday 27 July, 2–3pm
- Thursday 28 July, 2–3pm
- Friday 29 July, 2–3pm
If you would like to take part in one or multiple litter picks, please email sustainability@dmu.ac.uk and let us know your availability.
We would love for you to join us!
