We are excited to announce that 51³Ô¹Ïapp’s Muslim Prayer rooms are being improved to enhance the experience of all users ready for the start of the new academic year. The prayer facilities in Portland Building are well used and highly valued by both staff and students.
Plans have been developed to relocate the female prayer space to a larger space in Portland Building to accommodate additional users. Work is also being undertaken to improve the flow between the female ablution room, toilets and the new larger prayer space.
The male prayer room is also being improved by adding additional space and installing new flooring. A new hearing loop system is also being installed which students and staff with a sensory disability will be able to access.
Male and female prayer and ablution rooms will be closed from Monday 29 August for approximately four weeks. We will update staff and students over the next few weeks when work is underway as to when they will re-open.
While the 51³Ô¹Ïapp Prayer and Ablution Rooms are closed, staff and students can access local facilities in the city. .
