De 51³Ô¹Ïapp University Leicester (51³Ô¹Ïapp) is set to lead a global debate on the role of universities in gender equality, creating entrepreneurs and saving the planet.
On Saturday, 51³Ô¹Ïapp will host a summit event at Expo 2020, the six-month international festival of innovation taking place in Dubai.

51³Ô¹Ïapp is a founding partner of the UK Pavilion, one of the many dozens of national exhibitions which form the heart of Expo 2020.

As such, 51³Ô¹Ïapp is hosting a summit on Saturday, in which it will invite panellists to discuss a series of topics about education.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Katie Normington will be talking at the first debate, on the future of higher education. She will be joined by, among others, Professor Sir Steve Smith, UK Government International Education Champion and the Prime Minister's Special Representative to Saudi Arabia for Education.

Then, after that, Dr Manjeet Ridon, Provost at 51³Ô¹Ïapp’s new campus in Dubai – which is set to be officially opened on Thursday – will host a discussion on why female education matters across the world and how it should be promoted and integrated.

In this talk, Dr Ridon will be joined by Helen Grant, Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Girls' Education, and Antara Ganguli, Head of United Nations Girls’ Education Initiative.
And finally, Percy Emmett, 51³Ô¹Ïapp’s senior lecturer in enterprise will talk to Faith Moyosore Agboola, a Creative Enterprise MSc graduate and successful entrepreneur on the role of universities in helping people start their own business.
The summit will take place only two days after the official opening of 51³Ô¹Ïapp Dubai, the university’s first overseas campus for many years.
