All had been nominated for awards by their lecturers, who wrote mini citations outlining why they had won.

Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor/Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, Beverly Vickerstaff, said: “The awards presented are a recognition of our students’ ability and effort and demonstrate their outstanding achievements and success.

“We are proud of all our students in the faculty but today we’d like to say a particular well done and congratulations’ to all our award winners, and all good wishes for the future.”

Many award-winners have already begun work in their chosen field – including Alex Marlow, who will be based at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium after gaining an MSc Business Management in Sport.

I was able to talk about the work I had done during my Master’s at the interview.”

Rachael Scott is aiming for a career in intellectual property law and will be applying for a training contract after a year out. She said: “I’ve really enjoyed it here all the lecturers have been so supportive and always happy to help. I came here on an open day and liked the atmosphere I found our I’d won a prize a few days after results I was surprised."
