51³Ô¹Ïapp found to be best in country for helping graduates find high-level careers


De 51³Ô¹Ïapp University Leicester (51³Ô¹Ïapp) has been named the best university in the country for helping students find highly skilled work or further study.

And the institution was named the fifth best university for overall teaching excellence in a new analysis, carried out by higher education experts Wonkhe.

The study is an analysis of the six areas evaluated and graded as part of the Government’s newly-published Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

TEF focuses on three main measures – quality of teaching, learning environment and student outcomes – and awards universities gold, silver or bronze status.

And now Wonkhe has gone beyond the overall grading to study the figures from which the ranking was drawn.

found that overall, 51³Ô¹Ïapp was the fifth highest ranking university in the UK, coming higher than both Oxford and Cambridge universities.

It also found that 51³Ô¹Ïapp’s score for having its students find highly-skilled employment or further study was the highest in the country.

The TEF panel judged that 51³Ô¹Ïapp delivers “consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. It is of the highest quality found in the UK".

Judges praised 51³Ô¹Ïapp’s commitment to employability, its support for personalised learning and excellent resources. They also commended the positive culture at 51³Ô¹Ïapp which rewards excellent teaching and feeds research outcomes into the curriculum.
