My main interest is in Macroeconomics, with a keen interest in African development issues especially through international trade and via Economic Integrations. Having undertaken research in trade matters with a special focus on African trade, both at master’s level and most recently in my research degree, I have developed a deep appreciation for both the discipline and the subject. My research has afforded me the chance to work with various types of data, enhancing my econometrics knowledge as well as my ability to manage and analyse data using econometric software such as Eviews and STATA.
African development is an exciting and interesting field with numerous and unending possibilities to be explored, especially as the continent is currently the hub of a spectrum of changes, both at macro and micro economic levels. I specifically focus on African trade since trade, besides being a key driver in economic growth and development, is also among the most dynamic channels through which the continent communicates and relates to the rest of the world. In addition, lessons and experiences from developing Africa are fairly representative of the developing world, simply due to the dynamism of the continent at large.
Accordingly, I endeavour to continue in this line of research particularly in the area of Macroeconomics, to fully understand the dynamics of and determinants thereof, of key economic relationships both at regional and intra-regional levels.
