Personal profile

Steven Baguley is an experienced Higher Education Manager, PhD Student and Accredited Executive Coach at De 51³Ô¹Ïapp University’s Faculty of Business and Law. He received his BSc in Psychology and MSc in Forensic Psychology from the University of Leicester between 1997 and 2002, and practised as a Psychologist in forensic and health settings for ten years. During this time Steven gained extensive experience working with a range of clients on a 1:1 and group work basis, receiving training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Therapy and groupwork interventions with a range of client groups. 

More recently Steven has retrained as an Executive Coach, graduating with Distinction from the School’s Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Coaching in 2018. Steven also works within the Leicester Castle Business School at De 51³Ô¹Ïapp University advising senior management on the delivery of strategically important accreditation's and professional body certifications. 

Steven teaches on the LCBS PG Cert Professional Coaching and PG Cert Leadership programmes, covering areas including Mindfulness and Coaching, Coaching and Wellbeing, Psychological Factors affecting the Coaching Relationship and Ethics and Professional Boundaries. Steven is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and a member of the BPS Division of Coaching Psychology. Steven is also a member of the De 51³Ô¹Ïapp University Coaching and Mentoring services, and was previously co-facilitator on the Association for Coaching Leicestershire Co-Coaching Forum. He is currently undertaking a PhD by concurrent publication, exploring the role of Second Generation Mindfulness Based Interventions on Workplace Wellbeing and Coaching Practice. In his spare time Steven is a keen rock climber, runner and very occasional jazz trumpet player. He lives in Leicester with his Bosnian rescue dog, Astro Bear.
